In 2012, the Carnegie Visual Arts Center
presented the area’s first Mardi-Gras-style celebration with the Carnegie
Carnival.
Promoting art and creativity, family fun,
and downtown revitalization, individuals came together to establish the
first Crewes of the Carnegie Carnival.
Other family oriented activities could be
found at the Red Beans and Rice Cook-off at the Bank Street Green, the Kiwanis
Creation Station at Founders Park with the help of Morgan County Advocacy, and
musicians at various downtown locations.
The
Carnegie Carnival committee is busy preparing for the upcoming March 1st event. A large crowd is expected for the parades and activities. Crewes
are beginning to form and get ready for what is sure to be a great day of
fun. Let the Good Times Roll!!!
